How by choosing dental implants, you’re choosing to restore more than just your smile

Dental implants are an excellent choice for patients with missing teeth. At Warrendale Dental Care in Ross-on-Wye, our skilled implantology team can use these 21st-Century tooth replacements to restore more than just your smile. With implants, you are given a second chance at teeth.

At our Ross-on-Wye clinic we can use dental implants to replace one, some, or even all of your natural teeth. Whether you’ve lost a single tooth as the result of an accident, have several missing or failing teeth, or have been finding your traditional dentures increasingly cumbersome, implants could provide you with the perfect solution.

Made out of titanium, which is well-known for its high degree of compatibility with the human body, dental implants are placed directly in your jaw bone in minor oral surgery, carried out here at our Ross-on-Wye dental practice by an experienced implant dentist.

Most patients only need local anaesthetic for implant placement, whilst any post-operative discomfort and swelling can be easily managed with over-the-counter painkillers (always follow the instructions on the box and don’t take more than the stated dose; if you find you are still experiencing discomfort, contact our Ross-on-Wye clinic for advice).

Usually, your dentist will leave your dental implants to heal for a couple of months. During this time they form a very strong bond with the jaw bone, helping to prevent bone shrinkage and ensuring your permanent new teeth will have a firm anchor equivalent to that of a natural tooth root.

If you wear traditional dentures, you will still be able to use these during implant healing. For those with one or some missing teeth, your dentist may attach temporary teeth for the healing period.

Once healing is complete, you will be recalled to our Ross-on-Wye practice in order for your dentist to fit your permanent new teeth. These may be a single crown, an implant-retained bridge, or denture.

Bridges and crowns will be non-removable at home. You will still be able to remove your dentures but otherwise they will stay firmly in place. Whichever option suits your needs, you will enjoy the full functionality of natural teeth.
